Alopecia Description and Treatments
The word "alopecia" is the medical description for hair loss from the head or body. Alopecia does not refer to any specific hair loss condition, it is the generic term for hair loss in general. Normally alopecia describes a hair loss condition that is involuntary and unwelcome.
There are many types of hair loss and many causes, and the term alopecia covers all of them including certain diseases, heredity or hormonal imbalance, or drugs and treatments (chemotherapy for cancer). Both men and women can suffer from alopecia. Treating alopecia with laser therapy in its early stages can be very effective.
